The Vice President of Business Development, for Zapptrio, Inc., a spinoff of Mitsui Comtek Corp., a division of Japanese conglomerate and global Fortune 100 Company, Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

Situation

A pioneer in mobile content production and distribution, Zapptrio was being spun off from its parent company, Mitsui Comtek Corp. As part of its company launch campaign, Zapptrio needed a fresh brand identity, a corporate Web site, and a slate of marketing materials.

Vision

A rapidly approaching industry tradeshow would be the venue for launching Zapptrio’s new brand identity. As part of the launch, Zapptrio would promote its ring tone, screen download, game download and navigation product portfolio as well as its solutions, which include application development, licensing, and white labeling.

To prepare for the tradeshow, Zapptrio required branded marketing materials, including tear sheets, print collateral and business cards. Zapptrio’s new Web site needed to support the brand identity and provide corporate, product and services information for business-to-business customers and potential investors. Producing the Web site included providing Web content, as Zapptrio's corporate staff were fully devoted to existing business concerns.

Execution

Dayspring navigated a very tight timeline leading up to QualComm’s BREW conference, delivering the project in 7 weeks from engagement to launch.

The Web design is energetic, fun and scalable, allowing Zapptrio to add products as their business grows. The redesigned identity supports Zapptrio’s high-tech image while communicating the playful nature of their download products. Dayspring’s designers completed the identity design by creating Zapptrio’s print collateral, including business cards and marketing tear sheets. And Dayspring’s copywriting services gave a concise and energetic “voice” to the site.

On conclusion of the successful project, Zapptrio’s parent company, Mitsui Comtek, engaged Dayspring for a Web redesign.
